Blake and Mika tie their knot in a temple

For the American-Japanese couple, who tied knots at Navagraha Sannidhi of Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple on Adi Perukku day, the choice was certainly in symphony with their wish and dream.

Just like thousands of couples all over the state, David Blake and Mika Obayashi exchanged the traditional floral garlands between 10.45 and 11.15 am on Thursday, which was the 18th day of Adi month when the traditional Adi Perukku falls in line.

Blake, a professor of Anthropology at Osaka University, Japan, did not think twice in embracing the Tamil culture that he “loves very much” and selecting “one of the monumental temples in India” as the sacred venue.
