The Indian inspiration for Beatles

Mira Nair is coming out with a film on one of the greatest pop bands of all time, the Beatles. This full-length docu-feature will look at the time the Lads from Liverpool spent with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, at his ashram in Rishikesh, on the foothills of the Himalayas, in the late sixties.

"Some of the best loved Beatles numbers, including ones from White Album and Abbey Road, were inspired by the time they spent in India and the experiences they had. The idea is to explore and examine, through these fascinating musicians, the broader theme of artistic inspiration and how it comes about,"said Nair.
