Erra Karam Masala Dosa: Andhra recipe

Pappulu Podi Recipe
Prepation - 3 minutes
What you need for pappulu podi:

Roasted split chick(peasdalia/putnala pappu/bhuna chana) - 1/4 kg
Dry red chillis -2 (remove seeds)
Dry coconut powder - 1 tsp(optional)
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste

Erra kaaram recipe:
Preparation - 8 minutes
What you need for erra kaaram:

Dry red chillis - 4(remove seeds)
1 large onion, sliced
Garlic flakes - 3 crushed
Tamarind paste - 1 tsp(or lemon juice 1 tsp)
Oil -1 tsp
salt to taste

Usage of pappulu podi:

Grind all the above ingredients to a fine powder and store in an air-tight container.

Serve with boiled rice and ghee. OR sprinkle over idlis with a dollop of ghee. OR sprinkle some of this podi over stir fry dishes like beans, potatoes,and capcicum.

Usage of erra kaaram:

Heat oil in a cooking vessel. Add the red chillis, onions and garlic flakes and saute for 3 minutes. Remove and cool.

Grind the sauteed mixture along with tamarind paste and salt to a fine paste.
