Royallu Mudda Kura - Prawn Curry

Preparation: 30 mts

Serves 4-5 persons
What you need:

Fresh Prawns - 1/2 kg(Wash and remove tail, head and devein)
Onions - 3 (nicely sliced)
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves(fresh) - 20
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salat to taste

Grind a paste:

Cinnamon - 2
Cloves - 2
Garlic - 4 flakes
Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
Poppy seeds(khus-khus) - 1 tbsp (soak in warm water for 15 minutes)
Coconut(fresh) - 1 cup(grated)

Marinate the prawns in salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder for half an hour.

Boil the marinated prawns till they are almost done, approx 5 minutes(for small to medium sized prawns and for
larger prawns, boil for 7-8 mts).

Keep it aside. Grind a paste of using the all the ingredients mentioned adding 2 tbsps of water.

Heat oil in a thick fry pan, add the onions and curry leaves and saute till the onions turn light brown. Add the paste and mix well and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly as you will find that the mixture sticks to the vessel.

Now add the prawns after removing any water in the plate.

Cook on low heat till the prawns cook in the curried paste, approx 10 mts.
There should be no water content and stir fry till the curry coats the prawns and becomes like a stir fry dish.

Now your Royalla Mudda Kura is ready.
