Tomato Perugu Pachadi: Andhra recipe

Tomato Perugu Pachadi:

Preparation time: 15-20 mts

What you need:

Ripe tomatoes - 2 big (sliced)
Green chilli - 1(chopped)
Onion - 1 (chopped)
Curd - 1 (beat the curd till it is smooth)
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
Oil for fry - 1 tsp

For poppu:

Red chillis(dry) - 2 (remove seeds)
Minappa pappu (split gram) - 1/2 tsp
Mustard seedss - 1/2 tsp
Hing - 1 pinch
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves(fresh) - 10
Oil - 1 tsp

Tomato Perugu Pachadi - How to prepare:

Heat oil in a fry pan. Add mustard seeds and let them pop, and now add the minappa pappu and let it become brown.

Add the red chillis, curry leaves, and asafoetida and toss for a few seconds. Add green chillis, and chopped onions and fry till it is transparent. Add salt, turmeric powder and mix well.

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 8 minutes after they turn soft. Turn off the heat and cool the dish. Combine the cooked tomato mixture with the beaten curd.

Finally garnish the Tomato Perugu Pachadi with fresh coriander leaves.

Serves for 3-4 persons.

Goes good with both rice and chapatis.
