Driver Nagaraj gives a day’s salary every month to Indian Army

Nagaraj B, now working as a government car driver at Kolar in Karnataka responded to the government’s call of giving up their one day’s salary for Kargil Relief Fund in 1999. He started to contribute with Rs 130, which was his day’s salary in 1999 and even to this day regularly contributes to the Army. Now he contributes around Rs 850 per month based on his salary.

He believes that those working in Army are real heroes of the nation and he has given written instructions to the authorities concerned to deduct the day’s salary amount every month and send it to Army Central Welfare Fund, New Delhi.

He has also taken up Swacch Andolan programme and as part of the same he cleans the premises of DC Office in Kolar and City Court along with Pourakarmikas of the Kolar municipality during morning hours.
